The homeowners wanted their movie guest to have the ultimate movie theater experience. They wanted the walls and woodwork to “disappear” in a low light setting. This was accomplished by painting the audio and video cabinet as well as the trim and cabinets in the concession area jet black, distressing the edges and then clear coating everything with a dull finish. The walls where painted a rich burgundy color with a matte finish which helped tie everything together.
